World coin cufflinks was set up by Maura Reynolds from Dublin in 2010 and feature handmade cufflinks made from old coins which are polished and brought back to their former glory.

When Ireland switched to the Euro, she thought it would be nice to up cycle our old change into cufflinks which Irish people could wear with pride. Many of the images used in the old Irish currency reflect symbols of Irish heritage and culture such as the 10p Salmon, which represents the Salmon of knowledge and wisdom from the ancient tales of Cu Culainn.

Maura expanded the cufflink range to include other currencies such as the old French Franc, English sixpence, Italian Lire, Spanish Peseta.

The cufflinks are very popular for people who want to wear something unique, and different whether its for a wedding, birthday present or a gift for a family member. The cufflinks are featured in the US TV programme, No Ordinary Family, which has over 10million US viewers. Special sets of cufflinks were made for the characters (hero and villain) after Maura was contacted by the Costumer designer for the ABC network programme. |The cufflinks have also been featured in the in flight magazines of Singapore Airlines, and the Aer Lingus Cara magazine as well as Tatler, RTE Guide, and the Irish Times magazine.

Recipients of the cufflinks include Bill Clinton, Liam Neeson and Gabriel Byrne.

I received a set of these cufflinks from my wife at Christmas after she saw them in the Irish Times. It a simple but great idea. My father used to give me 5p as my weekly pocket money and the cufflinks of the 5p which I received always remind me of him.

    Regards,

    Conor
