Mia O'Connell

Mia O’Connell established her fashion forward label in January 2010 having graduated from the Limerick School of Art & Design just six months previous. She designs for the woman of engaging elegance, a woman who chooses to be different in her style and fashion forward in her choice.

Working with the varying textures of soft chiffons, crepe de chine, suede and smooth velvets, she manipulates, cuts and styles contrasting fabrics for feminine yet edgy impacts.

Her collections are inspired from her observations of people which she documents through diaries, photography and film. This unique approach uses willing participants to uncover their emotional selves through physical manipulation of material in ‘social experiments’. The result – beautiful textures that present the inner and outer beauty of human nature in stunning made-to-wear pieces.

Her first two collections sold in locations across Ireland and she has gained immediate acceptance as a distinctive and capable talent.

Mia O’Connell is currently an Associate Member of the CIFD.
Mia is currently at work creating bespoke pieces for clients while continuing her fashion studies.
