
Assemble 2012 – the Crafts Council conference – is being held on Thursday 20 September at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), London. The focus of the conference is the contribution that craft makes to innovation and enterprise, and the relationship between making and science, technology and engineering.
Conference sessions will focus on bioscience and high-end manufacturing and will include panel discussions, workshops and other activities alongside keynote speakers.
Keynote speakers include:
• David Gauntlett, Professor of Media and Communications, University of Westminster and author of Making is Connecting
• Ed Vaizey MP, Minister for Culture, Communications and the Creative Industries
• Rhian Solomon, Artist, and Director and founder of the sKINship Research Project
