Calling all designers, crafters, hobbyists and artisans in Ireland to unite under one design umbrella……
Swoop.ie is currently recruiting Irish designers to showcase their work on our soon to be launched (Mid November) website. Tanya Grimson (one of Ireland’s leading fashion stylists www.tanyagrimson.ie ) and Maria Dublin (Interior designer) have come together to launch a first of its kind online e-commerce site that only sells Irish handmade craft and design, but is open to all that make and design their own ranges in Ireland.
The website itself, due to be launched in November will be an online marketplace that will encapsulate the essence of Irish design with its boutique appearance, allowing traders the virtual feel of a stand-alone store.
All sellers will still have the opportunity to create their own shop brand and to sell their goods directly to the buyer, via the payment facility on the website, but without the overheads as Swoop will only charge 5% commission for each transaction.
Each buyer will have the ability to upload their own images for a minimal charge and to maintain their own shop status offering ‘on holiday modes’ and promotional sales. Listing fees will be .30cent per item and if you sign up in the first two weeks of the website going live, this listing fee will be waived for 3 months as an extra special introductory offer.
If you have an existing stand alone shop or personal e-commerce section on your own site, Swoop will provide a further revenue avenue for your business. Swoop will be marketed through our extensive media contacts and products will be placed directly on magazine pages and marketed through other media outlets such as TV and radio. An international marketing campaign will commence in 2012 to promote the site and its sellers in the US, Australasia, Canada and the UK.
Swoop was created to allow artisans and craft hobbyists the facility to showcase their work to a larger worldwide consumer audience, without any elitism of selection. All designers who make their own goods in Ireland can now have the opportunity to sell their wares on a larger scale while being promoted through the continuous PR organised for the site. Maria and Tanya are not only passionate about their industry and the people who work in it, but they feel more than ever that it is time to put Irish Craft and design on the global map, to connect the worldwide audience with the Irish design market and to make Swoop a worldwide one stop shop for all things beautiful, handmade and Irish.
