PLATO is recruiting now for the 2012 DesignerDublin PLATO programme. Over 9,000 companies across Europe have participated in PLATO programmes, it is a European success story based on peer support. This 12 month programme will focus on the needs of designer-makers in developing their business/label through a series of tailored monthly group meetings, practical workshops , one to one mentoring and networking events.
Workshops to include:
- Your message to the media: A workshop where you will be given assistance in creating the two paragraphs you will use to present you brand/label to the media.
- Ecommerce without the waffle: A workshop where the group work out the most effective ecommerce route for each business/label with a facilitator with practical ecommerce experience.
- Funds for designer-makers: A facilitated workshop where you will work out what grants/funds you can and should access, what you should write on the forms,
- Burning issue: The opportunity to discuss with the group the challenges and opportunities that you face in your business.
- Sales: The group will be facilitated in increasing domestic and export sales through practical advice and workshops.
The new group will have less than 20 members and set its own agenda. It will be driven by two experienced facilitators at least one of whom will have a relevant designer-maker background. Meetings will take place in a convenient central Dublin location.
Applications are invited from designer-makers who are
- at least 18 months in business
- are based in Dublin city or county
- work full time in fashion/ceramics/jewellery/accessories/furniture and have their brand/label as as their primary source of income
- interested in working with other designer-makers to grow their brand/label
